The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon has grown in leaps and bounds over the years. The committee has put together some frequently asked questions in order to minimize some common mistakes made pertaining to entering the race and to provide responses to some easily answered questions.
We are Sorry but, No you cannot run the entire race as a Single Marathon
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is a “Relay” Marathon” and not an individual race. Since the event is held in the month of May in South Texas, the heat index is too difficult for even the most skilled runner to attempt.
Will you accept copies of a race application?
Of course, no problem, we will be more than glad to accept copies. You can also download a copy of the race application on this website or please register online. Please look over this website to ensure that your team has the most up to date information for the 36th running of the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon.
Can we run with Baby Strollers?

- It is important to us and to you that we have the correct spelling of your team’s runners.

- Ages on the race application are mandatory for insurance purposes
Affidavit of Fact
Area you under 18 years of age
If you are under 18 years of age, your parents or legal guardian must sign your race application. If you are registering online when your parents read and click, the affidavit will authorize your entry

I am starved is there a pre-race dinner?
- Frank’s Spaghetti House offers great evening specials the night before the race.
Do I send a Check or Money Order? When does the late fee begin?
- Anyone entering with a printed application after the first deadline of April 7, 2012 must include the late fee of $80.00. Remember post the deadline we will only accept business check, money orders or cashiers’ checks
What time does the race Start?
When, Where and How do I get my packet?
Packet pickup will be held on Friday, May 19, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach, in the Conference Center that is adjacent to the hotel from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. Packet Pickup closes promptly at 8:00 pm and all packets unclaimed will be forfeited. However, it is perfectly acceptable for you to have a friend, family member or other team member to pick up your packet. Please have a plan and not wait till the last minute.
