Beach to Bay Factoids
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is sanctioned by the Corpus Christi Roadrunners and is one of six races that the club presents.
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is presented solely by an all volunteer staff.
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon next year will be the 37th Running of the Event.
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon utilizes mainly local businesses to full-fill its contractual obligations.
The Beach to Bay was established in Corpus Christi and was the brain child of Captain John Butterfield.
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is the United States largest relay running event.
The Race brings in over 3 million dollars during the event in sales tax revenues.
Beach to Bay uses local businesses to provide race day services
The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon supplies donations to 50 local charities in the Coastal Bend. Many of these local charities are High School Club (s), Boy Scouts groups, and other like organizations who participate in the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon.
One of the largest benefactors of the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is Texas Special Olympics and Texas A&M University, who receives a $20 thousand dollar donation that is given to their Cross Country Team for local athletes.
