Beach to Bay Rules and Regulations

We are Sorry but, No you cannot run the entire race as a Single Marathon

The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is a “Relay” Marathon” and not an individual race. Since the event is held in the month of May in South Texas, the heat index is too difficult for even the most skilled runner to attempt.  

Six Runners/One Team Only!

The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is a Six-Person Relay Running Event. Teams must consist of six (6) runners.  Each runner will run on only one (1) team and will run one (1) leg only for that team. No one can run on two (2) teams at any time. (No one can run an additional leg for any team, in this instance you and your team will be disqualified)  All members of each team eligible for awards are subject to verification by race officials prior to the awards ceremony.

The race director and or race official may disqualify anyone for cheating or not adhering to these rules.

Please bring your I.D. if you think you placed as we are required to ask. All team members must be listed on the Race Verification Card (R.V.C.) which will be available at Check In.  The R.V.C. must be completed before a team receives its packet.

Intentionally Not Completing a Leg

Anyone found by the course monitor and or course camera, intentionally not completing his or her leg will be disqualified along with his or her team members.  (An example of this would be not completing the first leg and turning around prior to the completion marker)

Baby Strollers

We apologize but due to the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon’s insurance provider, baby strollers are not permitted in the race, so please do not bring them.

Alcohol

As per City of Corpus Christi Ordinance-No Alcoholic Beverages will be allowed in Cole Park.  Rest easy, Beer will be on-hand at Cole Park for the After Race Party.

Applications

This is a biggie, there are is drop-off point for entries, and they must be mailed by the proper deadline. Please refer to the Registration page of this website for further instructions.

Buses/Race Day Transportation

Please remember that the shuttle buses are a courtesy. As with all public transportation, buses run on a schedule, please do not show up late and expect to be given a ride.  Parents of minor children running the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon are welcome to ride along on the bus.  Please remember that there is no transportation to Cole Park for the After Race Party.  Arriving early is crucial!  For further information, please refer to the Race Day Transportation tab of this website.

Payment via Check/Credit Card for Race Entry

Use of personal checks is acceptable for early entry in the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon. We will only accept one (1) check and one (1) check only for an entry. More than one check would create an accounting nightmare for us! 

Personal checks may not be used after May 1, 2010. The only acceptable payment method for a printed application after May 1, 2010 is a money order or cashiers check. No Exceptions Sorry!

Checks sent with insufficient funding or persons who stop payment (whether by check or credit card) on his or her check will be removed from the race. If payment is not receive you and your team members will be removed from the current race and any future Beach to Bay Relay Marathons until the matter is resolved.  This includes and is not limited to any other Corpus Christi Roadrunner (CCRR) events and any other CCRR participated events.
