This is our Reward for a job well done!

Beach to Bay Testimonials Thank You... Thank You....

Dear Sir, I managed to make it all the way back to Fort Worth with my B2B timing chip for the first leg still on my running shoe.  This was my 16th time to run B2B, and, as always, I enjoyed it.  Thank you to the Corpus Christi Roadrunners for hosting this event every year.  Mark Hommel

Good afternoon Doug,We are happily signed up for the beach to bay again for next year.  Just a note to you for all the hard work you and your crew do for the community. You do a wonderful job no matter what the weather brings. Thanks for all you do.   Take care, Leslie Kane, Sam Kane Beef Processors, Inc.

Just wanted to say THANKS!!!! We weren't expecting the weather and I was "lucky" enough to run the causeway in the torrential downpour - we are sure that impacted the bus returns and the traffic in general.  Overall we had a great time and we will definitely be back and I will be checking periodically to see when registration opens just in case you have to limit the field.  What an awesome experience and way honor and recognize our Armed Services!  So....THANKS!!!! Sally (Lori, Paige, Kellie, Heather & Brandy too)

Thanks for the reply Doug, we really did enjoy the race and it was a great family event for us.  The weather of coursed kicked our butts on legs 2-4, but nothing you can do about that. We plan on making this an annual event now and look forward to doing it again next year. Thanks for all of you and your staff(s) hard work, I know it's not easy to pull off an event like that. Aaron Hall

Yall did a great job on the race today. We had a fun time LeAnn Snody

I am a first time participant and have to tell you what an AWESOME experience this was.  Thank you very much.   Adriana H. Belshaw  Bib # 274

May 17, 2009 CCRR Board c/o Doug McBee Dear Board ON behalf of the 12, 0000 runners and our community, “thank you, thank you” for the 2009 Beach to Bay Relay Marathon – a true gift to the runners and this city!  I was standing afterwards with a teammate above the Pizza Hut looking down and we were commenting on the spectacular scene below that reflected great dedication, awesome organization skills, and an incredible number of volunteer hours.  Then, that night at Water Street having to wait for a full hour because of all the out of town runners, I came to the realization the tremendously positive impact on our local economy. Congratulations guys and gals on a job well done.  On a personal note, I indicated at your Thursday lunch break that having been in competition for sixty years (ages 9-69) this run was going to be my last. Well as I was crossing the finish line looking for Cheryl Ann, I tripped and fell flat on my face.  I tell you Ed … this is no way to go out! So, send me an application, which I will fill out , have the guys sign, turn it in and the Meatheads will run again. With kindest regards I remain Sincerely, Guy Watts

Thanks for a wonderful race! As usual we were extremely satisfied with the conditions (slight bit humid) and the volunteers did a great job. Thanks ! Rudy Villanueva, PMP

This was such an awesome event!!!! Lynsey

Dear Beach to Bay,

My team and I had an awesome time. Being first time participants we did not know what to expect. Everything was awesome. What a friendly bunch of runners. We are already looking forward to 2010. Thanks again for such a well organized and mapped out event. Georgia Molloy - Funky Cold Medina

Everyone: Thank you! I would like to personally “Thank” all of you that provided your time and effort to these runners. I am sure those of you who worked the medical tents will remember those scenes of distressed runners. They were of all ages, race, and gender with one thing in common: they desperately needed help and all of you were there as part of a team that provided that assistance. Pam, I would also like to extend my heartfelt “Thanks” to you and your great crew for their support. The Medical tents are critical to the success of this race in handling the heat-stressed runners who, I am sure, very appreciative that an “Angel” was nearby to provide the necessary medical services for their recovery. Thank you again, Mke Sahad iPS: I would like to ask that all CITGO volunteers send me their location worked and # of hours onsite which I will document and direct to the CARES Committee.

Doug and Julie:Our version of the run started this chilly morning at 0600 by the time it ended 0730 the heat of the day could already be felt. There were about 200 participates and I have attached some photos.....still waiting for some more that the "professionals" took. When is my deadline for the article for the running magazine? I will work on it this week as I am going on R&R in the near future.Thank you again for all that you did, we had such a fun time this morning and really showed our Corpus and Texas pride.MAJ Amy L. Dear Mr. McBee-- Thank you for your kind words. Your success is our success. It was truly a team effort. We are fortunate to have great staff persons who make the job look easy. In behalf of the entire "B" team, I wish to thank your organization and runners for their outstanding contribution to the community. If you do not mind, I would like to share your e-mail with our Board and the media. Please keep up the good work. We look forward working with you next year for an even bigger and better event. Thanks. Ricardo A. Sanchez

Mr. McBee: I am from Danville, California and I ran the Beach-to-Bay Relay Marathon with the "Frank's Angels Team" and I was impressed on the way the Beach-to-Bay was coordinated and organized. The relay was flawless and the celebration at the end of the run was fantastic. I love the "finisher's medal." A "job-well-done! Keep up the good work. Charlene Valceschini Danville, California

Doug, just saying thanks to you and all who helped in putting this event together. I personally have made most of the 33 years and have watched this event grow from about a 100 people to the huge size it is now. I have had the privilege of running on many teams, corporate and other divisions included and I think I have run each leg at one time or another. This year was great with the cool weather and the great participation. We’ll be there next year. Thanks Herman Vacca

Hola Doug! Congrats on another great year! I tell you what, I can't recall when the weather has been better than this year. It was totally awesome! My groups already planning for next year. By chance do you have the race results from 2004 and 2005? I'm doing a comparative. Next year Lightning Fast Bureaucracy will be back in the medal hunt. Ha-ha Take care and thanks for an awesome Beach to Bay experience, Zeke

Hi Doug I am the amputee runner that had contacted you prior to the marathon. Many thanks to you and your crew--outstanding event. Had the most amazing experience. I did do the 6th leg and did well--unbelieveable feeling of personal achievement. I plan to participate again next year, with an even more improved running prosthesis!! Thanks again! Mona Patel

Doug:I just wanted to let you know that we were so excited to be a part of the Relay this year and our team members in attendance can't wait for next year! Also, thank you for letting us be a part of this great event.  As word has gotten around in our offices, there as been a growing interest in the event and I am getting requests to run or volunteer for 2009.  I look forward to partnering up again next year and hope to have an expanded presence at the race. I know one thing for sure is if you give away a free koozie, you can make a friend for life! We became the most popular people around as we passed our koozies to the crowd. Roland D.
